Round The Tree
Join us for the Annual Torrington Round the Tree Race!
As part of the Torrington Mayfair Celebrations, our annual Round the Tree Race will be back for 2026!

This challenging and scenic 2.75-mile run kicks off from Torrington Square, takes you down through the beautiful Torrington Commons, and leads into Taddiport!
Once you reach the iconic tree, you’ll enjoy a relatively flat section back along the river path, but brace yourself for the tough climb back into town!
Did you know? The ‘Round the Tree Race’ is a long-held tradition! In the past, when there were fewer trees and bushes on the commons due to grazing, brave runners used to plunge straight down over Castle Hill and wade through the river!

Here’s what you can look forward to:
-
A stunning scenic course!
-
A medal for all finishers!
We welcome runners of all abilities to be part of this cherished Torrington tradition! Whether you’re running or cheering from the sidelines, let’s keep this event as strong as ever!
A HUGE thank you to Nigel and Diana of Oak Park Farm for their incredible support in helping us keep this traditional Torrington race alive by allowing access to the tree!
And let’s give a shoutout to our wonderful sponsors: Slee Blackwell Solicitors, WMS, and CMTG!
We can’t wait to see you there!
