Welcome to Torrington Amateur Athletic Club (TAAC). We're a friendly local running club based in Great Torrington, and taking in runners from all over the area.
No matter what your ability, you'll be welcome. We have runners whizzing round in sub-three hour marathons along with those who enjoy a slower, more social run. Come join us to stay fit, improve your running and make new friends.
We currently run two sessions per week:
Wednesday - Club night starting at 6:15pm. Meet in the gym by the sports hall of Great Torrington school. We do a varied range of activities from week to week to improve your overall fitness.
Monday - Available to all, we tend to concentrate on a tougher short session, such as speed work and hill repetitions. Meet at 6:00pm in the Great Torrington School car park.
There's no need to sign up straight away, come and join us for a few sessions before signing up to full membership. We look forward to seeing you!
While not strictly running, our very own Neil Reeby took part in the Dartmoor 100, one hundred miles in the saddle. What a great achievement!
It was another year of great competition in the North Devon Road Relays, where local clubs compete against one another. We had great results!

9th March 2020
Coronavirus Statement: last updated 17 March at 9am
The UK government has advised that everyone in the UK should now avoid “non-essential” travel and contact with others to fight coronavirus. Whilst it has not issued any ban on public gatherings of any size either indoors or outdoors at this stage, the advice is to avoid non-essential contact with others, including going to sporting events, pubs, clubs, theatres and social venues.
As a result, England Athletics advises that all face-to-face activity such as club training sessions, events, competitions, club committee and face-to-face meetings, athlete camps, running groups and social events should be suspended until at least the end of April.
